Teacher Induction Program (TIP)

Lead-In

The Lodi USD Teacher Induction Program (TIP) provides a two year individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support and professional learning for preliminary credential holders that leads to a Clear Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Educational Specialist Credential.

About the Program

Through the support of mentors, candidates apply the learning acquired in teacher preparation to the realities of daily classroom teaching. Using the Teacher Induction formative assessment system, candidates become reflective teachers, build collaborative relationships, and develop sound pedagogical practices and competencies that advance student learning.

Each candidate is matched within the first 30 days with a highly qualified mentor who will work with them a minimum of one hour a week to develop and refine strong teaching skills by looking at evidence and reflecting on his/her  practice as it relates to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP).

What Does TIP Provide?

In addition to providing all requirements for a Clear credential, candidates will receive opportunities to become Common Core Ready and to explore classroom management, effective teaching strategies, and ELD standards. Participation in the program will allow candidates to receive ongoing support from trained mentors and be a part of a community of learners who are focused on improving their teaching skills.
