Our Science Department  is supported at the district level with a full time science specialist, Charalee Cunningham.  We provide in-services, assist with selecting texts and ordering supplies as well as any additional support requested.

LUSD is happy to announce our new textbooks for all schools!  We welcome California Science by Pearson/Scott Foresman to all of our sites.

On-Line Student Edition of the textbook is made available by teacher sign-up only.  Please contact your child's teacher for more information about requesting a username and password to access the on-line Student Edition.  If your child brought home a letter with username and password, click on the following link to enter the Pearson/Scott Foresman California Science login page:

Star Lab

STARLAB is a portable nylon fabric mini-planetarium, 16 feet in diameter and 10 feet tall.  In addition to astronomy, programs that can be presented using STARLAB include Native Americans, Ancient Chinese, African Mythology, Plate Tectonics, and Greek Mythology.  Users must be trained in its operation prior to check-out and use, please contact the IMS department x17237 for more information.

Science in the Community

Lodi Unified School District partners with the community on a wide variety of activities and event related to Science.  A few of these include the following:

The Sandhill Crane Festival on the first week-end in November.  In it's 13th year, the Festival offers over 40 tours to local spots to observe wildlife, as well as educational and entertaining programs at Hutchins Street Square.

The World of Wonders Science Museum  The district has been integral in planning for the World of Wonders Science Museum that is housed in the ground floor of the parking garage in Downtown Lodi.  For more information click on the underlined link, or please phone 331-7019.  If you'd like to be a volunteer, pleaseclick here for the application.
