Our Lodi Area Special Education Region (LASER) has a committee called the Community Advisory Committee (CAC). Membership is comprised of parents with students who receive Special Education services, parents with students in general education, district staff from both special and general education, community agency representatives and any community member who is interested in Special Education. The primary role of the CAC is to represent the needs and concerns of the parents, school staff, and community agencies relative to services for students with special needs.
THE CAC HELPS COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO. . .

- Effect education policy
HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED IN THE CAC?
Involvement in the special education program of a child is a critical responsibility of each parent and guardian. Being informed about options, programs, and rights in special education assists you in making decisions that assure your child benefits from their educational experience. CAC meetings offer information about options in special education instruction, special services available to your child, and pending legislation affecting education. Time is set aside to provide parents and community members an opportunity to ask questions of special education professionals and to share experiences with other parents. Plan to attend the meetings and become a CAC committee member.
