Administrator Competence in Evaluation

School administrators are selected to lead, supervise, and evaluate the certificated personnel of the school in the implementation of an instructional program of the highest quality. In this most important task, it is essential that administrators be competent in instructional methodologies and in the evaluation of certificated personnel whom they are assigned to evaluate, as well as the requirements of law, the policies of this board, and the processes in the existing bilateral contracts. The determination of whether such administrators meet the district’s criteria for competence shall be made by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

Determination of administrator competence to evaluate certificated personnel shall be determined by the following criteria:

  1. The administrator shall hold an appropriate administrative credential.
  2. The administrator has participated in training activities in the evaluation of instructional methodology and effective instruction and district processes for the evaluations of certificated personnel.
