Philosophy Statement
The Board of Education realizes that the ultimate goal of education is wisdom and that our public, comprehensive schools are an important instrument for developing individuals with ability to make wise, independent decisions necessary for perpetuating and improving American democracy.
It is the aim of the district:
- To provide an environment in which each individual is recognized as unique.
- To encourage respect for the dignity of man.
- To foster desirable, orderly, cooperative action.
- To provide counsel, training, and cultural experiences which motivate each student in a climate of mutual respect and understanding in which the teacher is aided by administration, school board and parents.
- To utilize the community for supplementary learning experiences.
- To work with families and other community institutions in developing character without usurping the primary obligation to these institutions.
