Reciprocity on Standards of Proficiency/Graduation

Requirements Students transferring into the district from other California public school districts will be given full credit for meeting all or part of this district's proficiency requirements when the sending district verifies that the student has met its proficiency standards in corresponding areas. Such credit shall not be challenged because of the possibility that the sending district's standards may differ from those of this district.

To be eligible for graduation, transfer students must satisfy this district's proficiency standards for any basic skills which were not assessed as satisfactorily met by another California public school district. Proficiency tests taken in a public school outside of California will be recognized only for seniors who enter the district after the last proficiency test administration of the year and who have verifiable transcripts showing successful completion of proficiency tests in reading, mathematics and written expression from another state. If transferring from a state that does not require basic skills proficiency tests, the student may ask that course work credit earned in this district be transferred back to the previous school to facilitate graduation from that school. The student shall be responsible for arranging with the previous district for course work reciprocity and graduation.

The District shall accept, for credit, full or partial coursework satisfactorily completed by students while attending a public school, a juvenile court school or nonpublic nonsectarian school or agency.
