Discover TK

Transitional Kindergarten is an early childhood education program designed for children who are too young to enroll in traditional kindergarten but are ready for a more structured learning environment than typical preschool.

What is TK?

Transitional Kindergarten is the bridge between preschool and kindergarten, giving students the ability to build school readiness skills.  It blends the social and emotional experience with academic learning.

Through Lodi USD TK, children will be exposed to essential pre-literacy, pre-math, and other cognitive skills, while also developing social and emotional skills needed for life. Teachers who teach TK will have their multiple subject credentials with 24 Early Childhood Education units.

Why TK?

Studies have shown that children who attend early childhood programs like Transitional Kindergarten find success in their academic careers. Students are more likely to graduate from high school, attend college, and become contributing members of the community.

Lodi USD has adopted The Creative Curriculum for our preschoolers and TK students. This play-based curriculum is aligned to the California Foundational Standards for Early Learning.
