Lodi USD:

Staff have assessed Houston School and Joe Serna Jr. Charter School and have determined that it is safe to reopen school tomorrow. All Houston and Joe Serna students and staff should return to school tomorrow for regular class instruction. 

All Lodi USD schools will be in session tomorrow, Jan. 20. 

Lodi USD:

Due to continued flooding at Houston School and Joe Serna Charter School, school is canceled at those sites tomorrow, Jan. 19.

Lodi USD staff will continue to assess the damage to determine if school can reopen on Friday, Jan. 20.

All other Lodi USD schools will be in session tomorrow.

We will provide an update as soon as possible. 

Lodi USD:

Due to continued flooding at Houston School and Joe Serna Charter School, school is canceled at those sites tomorrow, Jan. 18. 

Once the water has receded, Lodi USD staff will assess the damage and devise a plan for the safe reopening of those schools. 

All other Lodi USD schools will be in session tomorrow.

All Lodi USD schools have power and all schools will hold classes tomorrow.

Power has been restored at Live Oak Elementary and school will resume tomorrow.

Turner Academy remains without power, which means school may be canceled tomorrow. We will send an update to the Turner Academy school community before 6AM tomorrow regarding classes.

Live Oak Elementary is without power again, which means school may be canceled tomorrow. We will send an update to the Live Oak school community before 6AM tomorrow regarding classes.

Power has been restored at three sites and San Joaquin Delta College will reopen its campus tomorrow. School will resume tomorrow, January 10, at the following sites:

1. Dorothy Mahin
2. Live Oak Elementary
3. Middle College High
4. Morada Middle

We do not yet have an update on power restoration at Turner Academy. We will provide an update to the Turner Academy community as soon as possible.

We do not have an update on power restoration at Morada Middle or Woodbridge Elementary. We will communicate directly with those sites before 6:00 A.M. tomorrow morning to inform them if school will take place.

Monday, January 9th school resumes. Although the upcoming storms should not impact our school sites, we will update our website should we have information to share prior to Monday.

Lodi Parks Closed

• Effective immediately, all City of Lodi parks are closed to the public due to current and potentially hazardous conditions.

  Due to the significant amount of rain, tree root structures have surfaced, and branches are weakened from years of drought conditions. Recent storm conditions have softened the ground, and many trees and branches are now falling.

  Signage will be posted throughout the day. Please do not access, pass through, or walk near parks. Trees that have fallen in parks and are not blocking structures, vehicles, sidewalks, or streets, will be addressed after forecasted storm systems have passed.

  To report trees that have fallen into streets or the public right-of-way, please call (209) 368-5735 - option 2. For emergencies, call 9-1-1. The most recent updates regarding the storm will continue to be posted here on our Facebook page.

Lodi USD:

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) has issued a health caution for our county due to gusty winds and continuing wildfires in Northern California. We are closely monitoring the air quality in our community according to SJVAPCD's Real-Time Air Advisory Network (RAAN). We are also monitoring the SJVAPCD's wildfire information page. As of 9 A.M. this morning, we are at Level 2, per RAAN. Level 2 is moderate, which means that “sensitive individuals should consider reducing prolonged and/or rigorous outdoor activities.” 

Yesterday, we limited outdoor activity due to our area rising to Level 4, unhealthy, which meant that “sensitive individuals should exercise indoors. Everyone should avoid prolonged or rigorous outdoor activities.”

Schools will be given directions regarding outdoor activities and this information will be communicated to our community. We will continue to update our website as well.
