Protect Yourself From Zoom Bombing
Protect yourself and your students
The world is vulnerable to a new type of trolling as people turn to Zoom video calls to feel connected amidst quarantines. It is being reported that people are using Zoom’s screensharing feature to blast other viewers with the most awful videos from across the internet, from violence to shocking other undesirable images. To protect our students please follow the following guidelines to prevent Zoom Bombing.
-
Use Zoom within Clever - do not use a Personal Zoom account, instructions for switching your personal Zoom account to a District Zoom account are on this webpage
-
Do NOT post your link publicly, follow the instructions for Zoom within Clever to give your students access.
-
Change screensharing to “Host Only” before a call starts
-
Disable “Join Before Host” so people can’t cause trouble before you arrive
-
Enabling “Co-Host” so you can assign others to help moderate
-
Disable “File Transfer” so there’s no digital virus sharing
-
Disable “Allow Removed Participants to Rejoin” so booted attendees can’t slip back in
-
Setting up a password or only giving out the link to specific people
